About Vibeshots
Vibeshots is a native macOS screenshot tool built for people who paste screenshots into AI coding tools all day. It's made by indie developer Ahmed Gagan, runs 100% on-device, and is a one-time $6.99 — no subscription, no account.
Why Vibeshots exists
I built Vibeshots because I was doing the same clumsy dance dozens of times a day: screenshot a bug, dig the file out of the Desktop, drag it into Claude Code, repeat for the next three shots — and occasionally panic that an API key was sitting in the frame. macOS gives you a capture key and not much else. Existing tools were great for cloud sharing or beautifying screenshots, but none were built around the actual loop of an AI-assisted developer.
So Vibeshots is opinionated about one thing: getting clean, secret-free screenshots from your screen into your AI tools as fast as possible. A bulk-paste panel for dropping several shots into the app you were typing in. Automatic on-device blurring of API keys and secrets. Built-in OCR. Scrolling capture. All native, all local.
Principles
- On-device by default. Capture, OCR, and secret detection never leave your Mac. No server, no account, no telemetry on your screenshots.
- Own it, don't rent it. One-time $6.99, free updates. No subscription.
- Native and fast. A real macOS menu-bar app driven by global shortcuts, not an Electron wrapper.
